This Project starts with stripping the old paint to see what we have to work with. The Right fender had has been stripped and the old body work re-done.
We found lots of old body work. We tried to save it but it had rust under it like the old paint.
After the old bondo and rust ( minor surface rust) is ground clean we re-do the metal work (The last guy used alot of bondo) .Then we'll use a skim coat of bondo to finish it off.
The first pic is the truck primerd for the last time (we primered it twice) before we paint. The second pic shows the body getting a gentle massage.
This is what Omaha Orange (a GM color) looks like on a 51 Chevy Pick-up.
